Application Guidelines (for international students)

Japan Hotel School is a vocational school that specializes in hotels and bridal industries, and is a hotel-only vocational school that trains professionals to work in the hotel and bridal industry. To date, many international students from 31 countries and regions around the world have enrolled and found employment. Check the entrance selection, application procedures, tuition fees, etc. before proceeding with your preparations.

Admissions Selection Guidelines (for international students)

Eligibility

Education・In principle, those who have received at least 12 years of formal education in their home country
・For those from countries (regions) with an education system of less than 12 years, those who have completed or are scheduled to complete a preparatory course in Japan
*Those with foreign nationality who have a valid residence status (permanent resident, long-term resident, family stay, spouse, etc.) and who are currently enrolled in or expecting to graduate from a high school in Japan may not be able to take the exam as foreign students. Please contact us for details.
Japanese language proficiencyApplicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
・Those who have been enrolled in a Japanese language school designated by the Ministry of Justice for one year or more and have completed or are scheduled to complete the course
・Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or above
・Those who have a score of 200 or more in the Japanese language section of the EJU
・Those who have a score of 400 or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test
GuarantorThe guarantor must be a cosigner for the applicant's identity and for the payment of tuition fees for the two years of enrollment. (A parent or guardian in the applicant's home country can also be the guarantor.)
Laws and regulations・Those who can comply with the Immigration Control Act, other Japanese laws, and our school regulations during their time as an international student in Japan
・Those who work less than 28 hours a week (less than 40 hours a week during long vacations at Japanese language schools) (only for those with a "Student" visa)
- Those who do not have tattoos in accordance with the school regulations

Selection Process

This is an entrance examination for international students only.

Interview test [about 20 minutes]・We will ask you about your aptitude for services in the tourism industry, your intention and enthusiasm to study, etc.
・We will assess whether or not the applicant has the Japanese language ability to study together with Japanese students.
Japanese written test [40 minutes]・The questions are at the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 level.
*Those who wish to major in English will be required to take an English written and listening test in addition to the above exams.

・The following certificates proving Japanese language proficiency

Those who are enrolled in or have completed a Japanese language schoolOne each of a transcript and a certificate of attendance.
Those who have no experience of attending a Japanese language schoolOne of the following:
・Copy of Japanese language proficiency certificate (N2 or above)
・Copy of the EJU score report (Japanese language subjects: 200 points or more)
・Copy of BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test score certificate (400 points or more)

・Please submit all necessary documents and application fee at the same time.
・Submitted documents and application fees will not be returned.
・Applications can only be submitted in person. If you wish to apply by mail, please contact us before submitting your application.

(Applications are not accepted on Sundays, national holidays, or the New Year holiday period (Friday, December 22, 2023 - Saturday, January 6, 2024).

Announcement of results

Please refer to the admission selection schedule.
Regardless of whether the applicant has passed or failed, the result will be sent to the examinee by mail on the day of the announcement. Inquiries by phone will not be accepted.

Admission Procedures

Successful applicants will be notified at the same time as they receive their acceptance letter. The documents required for the application process are listed below.

1. Admission fees (admission fee, first-year tuition, maintenance fee) and comprehensive student insurance fee
2. Pledge
3. Certificate (original) or diploma (original and copy) from the last school you graduated from in your home country (we will check the original when you submit it, so please bring both the original and the copy of the diploma) *If both the graduation certificate and diploma are in your native language, please attach a Japanese translation. If they are in English, they are fine as is.
4. Certificate of completion or expected completion of Japanese language school or certificate of enrollment (proof of enrollment for one year or more)
5. Copy of your passport (page with photo)
6. Copy of residence card (front and back)
*Even if you are in the process of applying for a visa or have already been approved, your admission may be cancelled if any problem related to Japanese law arises.
