What you need to know
Japan Hotel School, a vocational school that opened in 1972 as the "Prince Hotel School," is the largest hotel school in Japan, and has produced more than 14,700 graduates to date. We would like to provide some information for high school teachers and school officials who are interested in our school.
Five things you should know
1. Implementation of high school support programs
Some high school students may have various anxieties and questions when considering a career in the hotel, bridal or restaurant industry. We would like to sincerely engage with each and every student like you. If you would like career guidance at high schools, on-site lectures or individual consultations, please feel free to contact us. We will also provide individual explanations to high school teachers.
2.High employment record due to strong relationships of trust with the industry
Every year, human resources personnel and even general managers of hotels and bridal companies visit our school to hold company information sessions, which shows the high expectations our school has for its students. Another major feature is that we actively organize alumni associations, which allows us to indirectly support our students in finding a job or creating a strong network after graduation.
3. Educational programs highly regarded by the industry
The distinctive feature of the education at Japan Hotel School is that by repeating classroom learning and practical training, students can immediately put what they have learned in classroom learning into practice in the field, and acquire the ability to apply what they have learned in the field to theory. Secondly, during the daytime course, students experience different hotels (bridal facilities) and different job types in each of the three practical training sessions, giving them the opportunity to think about the suitability of the job type and the company they will choose when looking for a job through practical experience. Thirdly, even though they are students, they are paid for their practical training, which helps them develop a sense of responsibility and at the same time reduces their financial burden by using the money to cover the cost of the overseas training trip that is mandatory for all students.
4. Comprehensive support system for continuing on to higher education
Japan Hotel School has various support systems to ease the worries and burdens of those considering continuing their education. In terms of tuition fees, the school has its own scholarships that do not require repayment, and a hotel study support system that allows students to continue their education while earning an income. In terms of housing, the school has a dormitory, the JHS Student Hall, which is directly managed by the school. Support for continuing their education and life is provided, including a homeroom teacher system and part-time job introductions.
5. The educational content is certified as a professional practice specialized course
The Vocational Practical Specialized Course is an initiative that was started in 2014 when the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology certified courses that work to improve the quality of vocational education by organizing educational content so that students can acquire the latest practical knowledge through close collaboration with companies. The International Hotel Department of the daytime division of the Japan Hotel School vocational college was certified in the first year of certification.
