After gaining experience at a domestic architectural design firm, he was appointed as the manager of an office established in the United States, and gained experience in hotel design overseas. After that, he worked as a PM for a hotel owner company in Hawaii. In the class, he learns the basic knowledge of hotel design and conveys the fun and importance of design in hotels.

Message to students

Students will learn about the transition of architectural styles in the West and the history of hotel architecture, understand the relationship between hotel management and hotel design, and master the importance of design in hotel architecture. Students will also learn how hotel design has been influenced by the changes in the hotel industry both in Japan and overseas, and how hotel formats and services have changed, and explore new directions for hotel design in the future.

Thoughts on the future of the hotel and bridal industries

The global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we travel. Business travel has also plummeted, and the urban hotel market has been slow to recover. Face-to-face meetings have been replaced by online meetings, and the hotel industry needs to rethink how it does business. It is unclear to what extent we will be able to recover to pre-pandemic levels, but we believe that demand for hotels will definitely recover, and we hope that the momentum will return!
