Group research projects: "Restaurant Management Seminar" and "Hotel Seminar"

Improve problem-solving skills through group study and proposals

In preparation for the graduation presentation at the Japan Hotel School, the daytime division will hold a "Restaurant Management Seminar" and the nighttime division will hold a "Hotel Seminar." As a culmination of two years of learning, students will enhance their problem-solving skills by presenting group research and proposals on a theme.

Restaurant Management Seminar (Daytime)

Restaurant Management Seminar (Daytime)

In the Restaurant Management Seminar, students work in groups to plan a new restaurant business. They make proposals including creating store designs and menus, launching websites, logos, and social media, as well as demonstrating non-alcoholic cocktails and table settings. In addition to culinary knowledge, students will also use a variety of knowledge and skills, including industry information, market trends, finance, and human resources management, to complete a presentation as a culmination of two years of learning.

HMS (Hotel Management Simulation) / HOP (Hotel Operation Program)

HMS (Hotel Management Simulation) / HOP (Hotel Operation Program)

Participants will form a virtual hotel management team, with each member taking on the role of president, accommodations, food and beverage, finance, and human resources. Each hotel will have different management records and environments, and will set goals and strategies based on analysis and conduct simulations. They will experience simulated management decision-making, comparing their own plans and results every quarter. Through this practical program, participants will gain practical experience while learning management theory in order to accomplish the assigned mission.

Hotel Seminar (Night Class)

Hotel Seminar (Night Class)

In the hotel seminar, students will think of creative marketing strategies through group work based on what they learned in hotel marketing classes. They will communicate the attractions of the region to potential customers, and consider the sustainable development of the region and the hotel, and come up with their own ideas for promotion. They will develop future marketing strategies while thinking about how to contribute not only to the facility, but also to the region, society, and the environment, and finally make a group presentation.
