Overseas Study Tour
Under one of principles of education, it is aimed to adapt and maintain an international perspective. Students are experienced the culture, history, custom, language in South East Asia and North America or Europe. Students visit popular tourist sites, meet and interact with local residents and service providers, and stay at major overseas hotel. Through their stay at a major hotel there, they are to learn and consider how travelers are affected by hotel services in, and what sort of services hotels should offer to their guests.
Overseas Study Trip (1st year)
All students are required to take part in overseas study tour. The destinations for first-year students are selected primarily from South East Asian country (Malaysia; Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur). It is aimed to adapt and maintain an international perspective and students are experienced the cultures, histories, customs, language in South East Asia. Students visit popular tourist sites, meet and interact with local residents and service providers. Through their stay at a major hotel, students are to learn and consider how travelers are affected by hotel services, and what sort of services hotels should offer to their guests.
Overseas Study Trip (2nd year)
Second-year students travel to Europe or to North America. Students are basically able to select one course out of these two destinations. While traveling, Students learn about adapting and maintaining an international perspective, which is one of the Japan Hotel School’s principles of education. The students learn the travelers’ psychology, cultural differences between Japan and foreign countries. From these experiences, the students learn the meaning of tourism from the perspective of the guests, and gain insight regarding the current tourism situation in the world. The students are expected to wide view of perspectives with these experiences, and to understand the importance of international communication with people. Also students are given the chance to think about their own native culture again. The destination varies and is adjusted depending on the situation of world tourism, year by year.
